View > View Raster File

This command allows you to overlay a raster file onto the current visible landscape. The purpose of this feature is to allow you to view fire behavior raster files created by FARSITE simulations. However, any raster file in GRASS ASCII or GRID ASCII format can be viewed. Raster files can be of any resolution. This command works in both the VIEW MODE and NULL MODE.

Navigate to the location of the raster file you want to display. Note all the different file type filters. Make sure you know the three letter extension of the file you want to display or select the All Files (*.*) filter to show all available files.

Clicking the OK button will place an ArcView style legend in your "Simulation Legend" window, but will not yet draw the new raster file in the "LANDSCAPE" or "VIEW" windows.

To draw the new raster file select the appropriate 2D or 3D checkbox and the raster file will draw in the default black...red color ramp.

Changing colors is done with the following topics in the Simulation Legend instructions;
